Plum Beach Lighthouse - "A Renewed Beacon of Hope"

Welcome to the official website of the new and improved Plum Beach Lighthouse, located in the shadow of the Jamestown Verrazano Bridge on Narragansett Bay in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. It's an exciting time for the lighthouse and its owners, the nonprofit group Friends of Plum Beach Lighthouse, Inc. Now Rhode Islanders and lighthouse lovers have something to be proud of as the Plum Beach Lighthouse has gone through a metamorphosis in 2003.  Join us as we celebrate its new look and its Renewed Beacon of Hope.

The picture you are looking at is of a lighthouse over 100 years in the making, and the new millennium has brought renewed life to it.  If you are familiar with the lighthouse, you have known it as the rusty, deteriorating hulk of metal, an eyesore that formerly welcomed drivers traveling over the Jamestown Bridge, and vessels traveling near the bridge.  She has a history that legends are made from, and her legend of her keeper John Ganze can be read on the history page.

Visit our Construction Page to see past and present photos of the lighthouse and it's many phases of re-construction. And be sure to visit our Plum Beach Lighthouse Store for various Plum Beach Lighthouse merchandise.
